Pillowbook Sleep
Terms of Use
Last updated October 31, 2026
The short version
- Pillowbook helps you wind down and sleep. It isn’t medical care.
- Your first three nights are free. After that, Pillowbook is a subscription through Apple that renews until you cancel.
- The alarm depends on your iPhone, so don’t rely on Pillowbook alone when a missed alarm would matter.
- You can cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Peachblue Technologies Inc. (“Peachblue”, “we”, “us”), the maker of Pillowbook Sleep (“Pillowbook”). They cover the Pillowbook app for iPhone and this website. By downloading or using Pillowbook, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Pillowbook.
2. Using Pillowbook
We give you a personal, non-transferable license to use Pillowbook on Apple devices that you own or control, as the App Store’s Usage Rules allow, including through Family Sharing where it is offered. You may not copy, sell, rent or redistribute the app or its content, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows it.
3. Not medical advice
Pillowbook is a wellness app: guided wind-downs, night sounds, an alarm and a sleep journal. It isn’t a medical device, and it doesn’t diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, including insomnia or sleep apnea. Nothing in Pillowbook is medical advice.
If you have had trouble sleeping for weeks, feel very tired during the day, snore loudly or stop breathing in your sleep, or have any other health concern, talk to a doctor. Don’t listen to a wind-down while driving or doing anything else that needs your full attention.
4. Alarms and reminders
We work hard to make the alarm and reminders reliable, but they depend on your iPhone: its battery, volume, Focus and notification settings, the permissions you give, and iOS itself. They may not sound if your iPhone is off, out of charge or set to silence them. Please don’t rely on Pillowbook as your only alarm when missing it could cause you harm or loss.
5. Free nights, subscriptions and trials
- Your first three nights with Pillowbook are free, and no payment details are needed for them.
- After that, Pillowbook is available as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly. The price and length are shown in the app before you buy, and may differ by country.
- Some plans begin with a free trial. If you don’t cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase, or when a free trial ends.
- Your subscription renews automatically for the same length and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings (tap your name, then Subscriptions) or in the App Store. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- If you buy a subscription during a free trial, the rest of the trial ends when you buy.
- Payments, billing and refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms. To ask for a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. We can’t issue refunds ourselves.
- If a subscription price changes, Apple tells you before it applies and, where the law requires, asks you to agree first.
6. Our content
Pillowbook’s wind-downs, voices, sounds, words and design belong to us or to the people we license them from, and are protected by copyright and other laws. The guides are recordings made with licensed voice technology, and their names and personalities are characters, not real people. You may use all of this only inside the app, for your own personal use.
7. Your journal
What you write in Pillowbook stays on your iPhone and belongs to you. We don’t receive it. Our Privacy Policy explains the details.
8. Using Pillowbook fairly
Don’t use Pillowbook in a way that breaks the law, harms other people, or interferes with the app or the services it relies on.
9. Changes to Pillowbook and to these terms
We may update Pillowbook, add or remove features, or change these terms. If we make a significant change to the terms, we’ll tell you in the app or on this site before it takes effect. If you keep using Pillowbook after that, you accept the new terms.
10. Ending these terms
You can stop using Pillowbook at any time by deleting it. Deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription, so cancel that in your Apple Account settings too. We may stop offering Pillowbook, or end your use of it if you break these terms. Sections 6 and 11 to 15 continue to apply after these terms end.
11. Disclaimer
Pillowbook is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t promise that it will always work without interruption or errors, or that it will improve your sleep, and we disclaim all other warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Some places don’t allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
12. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Peachblue won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost sleep, missed appointments, lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of Pillowbook. Our total liability for any claim about Pillowbook is limited to the amount you paid for Pillowbook in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
13. App Store terms
Because Pillowbook is distributed through Apple’s App Store, these terms also include the following:
- These terms are between you and Peachblue only, not Apple. Peachblue, not Apple, is solely responsible for Pillowbook and its content.
- Your license to use Pillowbook is limited to Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, which also allow other accounts associated with the purchaser to use Pillowbook through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Peachblue is solely responsible for maintenance and support of Pillowbook (support@peachblue.io). Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for it.
- If Pillowbook fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, to you. To the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Pillowbook, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses caused by a failure to meet a warranty are Peachblue’s responsibility, as these terms set out.
- Peachblue, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to Pillowbook or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that Pillowbook fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws, including in connection with its use of HealthKit.
- If a third party claims that Pillowbook, or your possession and use of it, infringes their intellectual property rights, Peachblue, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use Pillowbook, such as your wireless carrier’s data terms.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept these terms, Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
- Questions, complaints or claims about Pillowbook go to Peachblue at the contact details in section 16.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it in your local courts. Wherever you live, you keep the protection of your local consumer laws.
15. General
If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else; we may transfer them to a company that takes over Pillowbook. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Pillowbook.
